Support Wisconsin Senate Bill 162

The link between domestic violence and animal abuse has been proven. Abusers typically practice on animals before people. The pattern of violence frequently extends to the abuse their human victim's pets. Pretty creative and diabolical when you think about it. Threatening someone's pet by saying, "If you think about leaving I'm going to kill your dog," is a VERY effective form of manipulation.

Therefore, to give victims further options to prosecute their abusers Senators Risser, Carpenter and Lassa introduced Wisconsin Senate Bill 162, with the support of cosponsors Representatives Hines, Berceau, Travis, Musser, Sinicki, Albers, Hraychuck and Hixson.

Sunday, July 29, 2007 I will discuss the details of the important changes this bill includes. Megan Senatori, founder of Wisconsin United for Furry Friends and attorney with Dewitt Ross & Stevens joins me on "Your Family Pet" WRRD am540 The Word from 3-3:30pm. Megan Senatori will explain the purpose of the bill.
